I am looking for parents interested with helping out with the upcoming book fair. This book fair I will be opening for A track and B track before school and for parents during lunch time. In order to make these times work I need help. I also need a runner who will go to the Scholastic Warehouse in Draper, UT to pick up restock orders. All you need to do is go to the link and sign up! As a thank you I give volunteers a $5.00 Voucher as a thank you for the help! If you have any questions, please contact me.

This month we read books about the gift of giving. We read the following books:
How the Grinch Stole Christmas and How MURRY Saved Christmas
The grumpy, grouchy, Yule-hating Grinch plots to ruin the Whos of Whoville's Christmas. Can he steal their holiday spirit by stealing their holiday treats? Perhaps Christmas means a little bit more than just presents and candy.
When Santa is put out of commission, deli owner Murray Kleiner reluctantly agrees to take his place, putting a spin on Christmas that's all his own. And with the help of a pushy elf and an eager-to-believe young boy, Murray finds that even though he's not big enough to fill Santa's suit, he's got more than enough heart to get the job done.
I challenged the students to think of one person they could give a gift that would not cost any money. We had Christmas light bulbs to write down the idea. It was very heartwarming to see the spirit of giving in our students at Riverview.
Creepy Pair of Under Pants: Jasper Rabbit is NOT a little bunny anymore. He’s not afraid of the dark, and he’s definitely not afraid of something as silly as underwear. But when the lights go out, suddenly his new big rabbit underwear glows in the dark. A ghoulish, greenish glow. If Jasper didn’t know any better he’d say his undies were a little, well, creepy. Jasper’s not scared obviously, he’s just done with creepy underwear. But after trying everything to get rid of them, they keep coming back!
Glow: Why be afraid of the dark when there is so much to see? Whether it's used to hunt, hide, find a friend, or escape an enemy, bioluminescence—the ability to glow—is a unique adaptation in nature. In this fun and fascinating nonfiction picture book, join world-renowned photographers and biologists on their close encounters with the curious creatures that make their own light.
Thank you parents for coming out to our fall book fair! It is great to see students get excited about reading. There were a lot of fun opportunities for students to win a book from this book fair.
Mark your calendars for FEBRUARY 6th - 9th, 2018!
Look for a flyer about more details on the book fair and all the fun opportunities to win prizes from the book fair.
